Hi folx,
I’m back again with another recipe today. Though first I want to share a little update. I finally made an appointment with my gp for a referral to a gender therapist. I’m so nervous, but hopefully this will be my first step towards testosterone. I’ll let you know more on that tomorrow.
Watermelon season has started, and therefore, in my eyes, so has summer. This juice is an amazing refreshment on warm days and perfect when it’s so hot you’ve lost your appetite. This is definitely my favourite juice
What you need
Ingredients:
- Half of one medium watermelon
- A couple of leaves of fresh mint or basil (optional)
Equipment:
- A blender
- A nutmilk bag (many are available online, but if you can’t find any you can also make one yourself from cheesecloth)
- A large bowl (preferably one that’s tall and pours well, like in the picture below)
- A sharp knife
- A cutting board
Yields: about 2,5 – 3 pints
Method
First, cut up your watermelon. I prefer doing this by cutting it in fairly small wedges, cutting off the rind and then cutting the rind free watermelon into pieces. Toss the watermelon in your blender with the mint or basil and blend well. You may have to do this in two batches. Then pour the slush into your nutmilk bag over the bowl and press out all the juice. Enjoy straight away or chill for a couple of hours.
