So, I'm not really on here much anymore, but I made a thing. This is about the extent of my Spanish, but it's a quote from one of my favourite books.
Took a minute, but finally fully vaxxed 😁
This wheelchair is such a blessing. And I've been so lucky to have a mom who has saved up money for me over the years and doesn't even consider me using those savings as her paying for it. I'd never have been able to afford it myself from my disability benefits and getting it covered with EDS(-like symptoms) is hard enough even with a diagnosis.
Almost a week of having my new wheelchair and I've been able to go out so much more! I've so far been about three times as far as I could with my old chair, without being utterly exhausted. I mean I can feel I've done something, but it doesn't feel like a workout unless I make an effort with my speed. Which means I can now go into town using my chair and won't have to choose between using my bike or my chair as much. With how much narrower this chair is, shitty sidewalks aren't as much of a problem anymore either. The other day I tracked a stroll when I did make an effort for speed and my average was 7km/h 😱 Last time I tried running (which has been a minute, I'm no doubt fitter now) I could only go 6.5km/h for a few minutes, this is a gamechanger.
